A lot went into making the Constitution. The personality conflicts, alone, required kid gloves. Then there were the issues of what “self-government” should be, how it should work. In this episode, Dr Bill discusses these wrinkles and roadblocks, from how to get John Hancock aboard, to disinterested delegates, to yes, impeachment. You won’t get this kind of history in many (if  any) other places.

The enigma of James Madison and effective self-government. Was Madison sincere, or was he pursuing a means to an end? The question has decided relevance today, as we see political opportunists claiming the mantle of “freedom” and “liberty,” yet filled with disdain for constitutional principles.  Once again, if you take Dr. Bill’s teaching to heart, you’re probably ahead of a majority of the voters in this country and waaaaay ahead of 100% of Trump and his supporters.

Mike Pompeo continues to devalue a degree from West Point. Today, he suggested going to war against Turkey. Igor bought himself a congressman. Trump melts down in front of cameras, assaults the Constitution he swore to uphold and defend as “phony.” That is as near sacrilege as a secular republic can get, and it is past intolerable. 

What makes Dr. Bill’s programs so special is his ability to relate things happening in real time with things that happened at the origins of our country and make it crystal clear. Today, the Emoluments Clause, among other things. You’ll benefit from the time you share with Dr. Bill.
